The human brain regulates the functions of the other organs of the body. Through neurotransmitters, it communicates commands. However, our cognitive skills decline as we age particularly at 70 years old. The parts responsible for memory and learning shrink as we age.
That is why dementia is common among those above 70 years old. This is perhaps tied to the lifestyle changes that occur when a person reaches 70. Retirement is usually at 60-65 so the lessened cognitive and physical activities contribute to brain shrinkage.
4 Pillars of a Healthy Brain โ

I read "The Emotional Life of Your Brain" by Richard Davison many years ago. It's fascinating, with a lot of neuroscience and a test to figure out your emotional style.
The last time I saw one of his conferences, it left me with my mouth shut. I thought, "Wow, these are exactly the topics we cover in my MPC Masterclass." ๐
Richard J. Davidson explains that the brain relies on four pillars to stay healthy. I would like to introduce them today.

Awareness also includes what some call "meta-awareness," or the ability to know what our mind is doing from moment to moment and to make conscious choices about it to increase our capacity to respond and not just react.โ

๐๐๐ก๐ ๐ง๐๐๐ก๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ค๐ฃ ๐๐จ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐ฉ๐๐๐ง๐ ๐ฅ๐๐ก๐ก๐๐ง. What stories do you tell yourself about yourself, often unconsciously? What are your limiting beliefs, and how do you truly talk to yourself using your inner voice? How can you manage it and play with it?โ

Brain Exercises for a sharper mind
Try to incorporate these activities for senior household members; even kids with developing brain cells can benefit from the same exercises
Jigsaw puzzles; looking at how the pieces fit together to form a big picture
Card Games improve memory bonuses if played with others for the interaction
Reading because it stimulates creativity and introduces us to new words
Dancing encourages good breathing and stimulates movement processing because of

coordination
Traveling because it engages all five senses it can be a simple trip to the market or mall so long as one observes the use of all faculties
Learning a new skill, it can be playing a musical instrument, learning to bake or who knows coding can up your brain power
Listening to music
meditation or yoga
The congruence of brain, body, and psyche health is so important a recent seminar highlighted it. Just last week, I was a part facilitator of a similar program.
The fun activity was well received with around 20 women in attendance. The body and Mind Talk was a great springboard for many women to interact with other professional women and discuss similar interests like how to stay in robust shape while juggling all other activities at home and at work.

Many participants shared it was a rare opportunity to do something that is only for themselves, the talk was like a shared "me time".
Our body, mind, and psyche are intertwined. That is why mindset training is the foundation of most courses because if we are not open or prepared for coaching or mentoring, our efforts would be ineffective.
