Recently, I conducted a LinkedIn poll, trying to put a price tag/monetary value on what a profitable career looks like.
Thank you to the wonderful respondents, by the way.
I wanted to better understand what a profitable career for my network is.
This was the question
What is a profitable career to you (in € or $)?
Just because you look for more meaning doesn’t mean it should deliver a small paycheck. So what paycheck would you like to see each month to feel it is a profitable career?
Between 2000-3900
Between 4000-6900
Between 7000-9900
10 000 and more
After a week of tabulating the answers, the results are not as I expected.
Most of my clients are afraid to change careers because they don't want to lose financial stability....
And of course, this is completely understandable.
Is that the case for you too?
In my personal and coaching experience as I did a 360° career change, I know from experience there should be more than one option in trying to change your career. While I was exploring those options, I never jeopardize the financial stability of my family. The trick is to map out the strategies beforehand and to be prepared with contingencies.
The first step is to have clarity on what you want and what you can do, and make a realistic assessment of your situation.
Financially, it's important to know what you consider what is profitable for you and the minimum amount to sustain house expenses. Then we can climb the steps to get to where you want to go financially. The more intricate emotional component of the decision will be discussed separately. Let us focus on the financial component first which is the first hurdle.
Survey results :

What surprised me is that only 19% stay in the 7000-9900 range and 31% are up to 10000
What is your interpretation of this results? Why do you think more people vote for 4000-6900€ and 10 000€ and more than for 7000-9900€ or $? I would love to hear your thoughts.

Those are screenshots of actual comments of responders. The lively responses show the real answer varies from one person to another. What is profitable to you might not be profitable to me which translates to values being relative each one has a different interpretation.
The purpose of my article is not to argue, it is the opposite actually. The real intent of the survey is to respect your views yet ask you -
DO YOU HAVE THE MEANS TO ACHIEVE WHAT YOU CONSIDER A PROFITABLE CAREER?
Because my next program offers this - THE CLARITY TO DETERMINE WHAT IS PROFITABLE AND THE MANNER TO ACHIEVE IT.
