Have you noticed how children today seem to have boundless energy for different things?
They alternate from looking at their tablet to the tv screen.
They appear absorbed in the latest TikTok dance but can not finish an essay due on Monday.

Hey parent, you are not alone. It is not your fault technology and society have made focus a real challenge not just among children but among all human beings. Attention span is now down at 8 seconds. No wonder kids find it difficult to focus on just 1 task at a time.
Let me share a story.
Last Saturday, I met a mom. We discussed mindfulness for children. I suggested some books that I found very helpful, and then she asked me, “But will these books really help my child to meditate and be more mindful and more focused?”
And here is my answer: “The books are really good, but the best way to ensure your child trains his mindfulness is to train yours first." She stopped for 30 seconds. I thought to myself, "that's it, I've lost her, it was too direct," and finally she smiled. "Ah yes, I understand. Walk the talk."
I have taught mindfulness, stress management, and emotional intelligence to children (and adults) for the last 7 years. I have met maybe over 1500 children.
I am a firm believer that self-awareness, self-regulation are at the heart of a great life. I believe we must show our children how to focus on what matters, lest they be lost or lose their moral compass.
We can only show our children to be the architects of their lives if we really are the architects of our own.
Why are self-awareness and self-regulation 🗝🗝🗝
💎Self-awareness is the ability to focus on yourself and how your actions, thoughts, or emotions align (or not) with your internal standards. So, it is the best way to know who you are and what you want. Self-awareness is the foundation for developing your social skills and being more empathetic.
✨The emotional brain is far faster than the rational frontal cortex. When you train it, you become more approachable, able to deal with conflict, create a nurturing environment, and lead by reliable example. It is a way to be in control and not let your emotions control you; a way to be present and connected to your internal and external world. Self-awareness gives you direction, while self-regulation helps you to stay at the helm.
Oh great, but how to train that?
🛡Train your attention. Attention is the new gold. If you don’t get your attention under control, you might get distracted by shiny objects (Shiny object syndrome is where people shift focus/attention on a new or trendy idea but drop it as soon as something newer crops up), so you will just fail to develop yourself because you don't know where to start and/or you get too easily distracted.
⚔ Be courageous. It is not easy to live a fulfilled life. You need to be brave and have a resilient heart to truly live your life’s purpose. We tend to self-sabotage and give in to our fears and doubts all the time.

How many ideas have you not pursued? How many dreams have you abandoned? I am sorry to say that if you stay stuck there; it is exactly the same dead-end road that you might lead your children to.
And now you understand the heart of my business. I will help you live your purpose in life, to build your awareness, to design your vision and take action while giving you tools and guidance to teach your children to build their own awareness and vision.
Eckhart Tolle "a new earth - awakening to your life purpose" one of my favorite authors insists: we give our negative emotions to our children, and it is not helping them. If we do all what we can to be happy in the present moment and align our inner purpose to our outer purpose ( and it is what we do in my course) then we give a magnificent gift to our children.
